July Contributor: Gwen Erin Natural Fibers

Hi! Today I’m here with Gwen, who makes the prettiest yarns and dyes the prettiest fibers, and is also some sort of knitting wizard. You don’t have to take my word for it, check it out!

I like to dance around the house when no one is home and snuggle with my cat until she squirms from my grasp. I live in a nice little bungalow with my wonderful husband in northeast Ohio. We like to spend our time camping, doing Medieval reenactment, building things, and having adventures. It’s a happy, busy life!

Handspun and dyed yarn from Gwen Erin Natural FibersAs for my business, things began in 2006 with a holiday craft show and just a few handknit fingerless mitts. Over time I began selling my handspun yarn and dyed fiber at shows and online. I realized I enjoyed working with specific breeds, so I started searching out unique
fleeces from local farms. I like how each breed and each sheep gives you a different fiber. There is always something new to experiment with and learn about.
